He was awarded by 'Film World' Magazine as 'Best Character Artist' for portraying the role of 'Shirdi Saibaba' in the Movie 'Shirdi Ke Saibaba' released in 1977.  He is popularly known for movies like Khal Nayak (1993), Shirdi Ke Sai Baba (1977) and Gandhi (1982), Dana Panin (1989), Jwala Daku (1981), Chirutha, Gehrai, Patitpawan & Guru, etc.  Sudhir Dalvi has acted in more than 200 Films in multiple languages including English, Marathi, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Gujarati, Punjabi, Marwadi, and Urdu, etc.  Sudhir has been seen in the role of Shirdi Saibaba or fakir in more than two films.  Sudhir Dalvi has been the part of various famous Television series like 'Bharat Ek Khoj', 'Mirza Ghalib', 'Junoon' (1994), 'Ghutan' (1997), 'Om Namah Shivaya' (1997), and the most popular daily soap of 1990's 'Kyonki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi'.  He initiated his career as a Theatre Artist and he has worked with prominent Theatre Groups of Mumbai like Theatre Unit, Indian People's Theatre Association, etc.  Sudhir Dalvi (famous Indian Actor), before entering the cinema world, used to work as Interior Designer with well-known Architects of Mumbai.
