Information about Soumya Swaminathan

She won individual Gold at the Asian Team Championship 2016.  Does Soumya Swaminathan smoke?: Not known  She was the Indian junior girls champion in 2005 and 2006.  In 2012, she became the Commonwealth women's champion in Chennai.  She won the 2011 Indian women's championship with a score of 8.5/11.  She lost her mother at a very young age in a fatal accident, her father has been taking care of her since then.  She was National Women's Premier 1st Runner Up in 2015.  She started playing chess at the age of eight.  Having being born in Kerala, she grew up in Aurangabad and then shifted to Pune.  In 2016, after tying with Anastasia Bodnaruk and Alexandra Obolentseva for the first place in the women's section of the Moscow Open, she finished second on a tiebreak.  She became only the third Indian girl after Grandmaster Koneru Humpy and Woman Grandmaster, Dronavalli Harika to bag World Junior Girls Title.  Before her first major success, she has been Youth Girls Champion twice.  Does Soumya Swaminathan drink alcohol?: Not Known
